We're sized and structured in such a way as to provide immediate, personal, hands-on service from the very first point of engagement, at the conceptual level, through implementation and technical support down the road
Founder, 30-year software development expert, and 15-year professor at Purdue University. His experience is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing for our clients when his wisdom makes new problems seem like old hat on the path to a simple solution. A curse for his younger team members who have to suffer his "back in my day" stories.
He's programmed everything from "big-iron mainframes" and Apple IIs in his early days, to Windows, web, and iPhone applications of today.
He's a father of two, has a love of vintage motorcycles, prefers HGTV to ESPN and refuses to "tweet". Some think he's a beer snob so don't offer him one that's fizzy and yellow.
Tangent. It could be his nickname.
Not because it's some reference to mathematical calculus, as you might imagine. But, rather, because he likes to talk.
Mikel's energy and enthusiasm is the catalyst for applying DelMar's expertise to every client's unique business application. In addition to 19 years in software development, Mikel is a co-founder of MatchBOX Coworking Studio and is the president of Lafayettech. He has his B.S. and M.S. in Computer and Information Technology from Purdue University.
He's from Nappanee, Indiana, not Napa Valley... big difference. He is a dad of two and he really enjoys his standup desk. He's been known to vacation off the grid in the Boundary Waters, and he relishes a week without shaving.
"Cutting edge" is best personified by Myers.
For new technologies, no one gets out on the curve further than he does.
Software that "just works" and borders on magic makes him happy—that and fresh baked cookies from his co-workers.
He is from Kentucky, but still has that Colorado mountain air in his lungs. On top of having 12 years of software development experience, he's also a singer/songwriter and personal trainer. DelMar is the "day job" he shouldn't quit.
James is our bat. Sleeps all day. Codes all night. And seems to have some kind of bizarre cyber-sonar ability to locate precisely what we need on the Net when we need it—even if it means finding something as tedious as a random .gif image.
Not to mention he has a predator-like passion for technical challenges and improving code efficiency.
He's also our go-to guy for projects that involve web development. With 11 years in software development he has been called all the nicknames... code "rock star", "guru", "ninja". Every one of them is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Like Mikel, he hates shaving. But unlike Mikel, is smart enough to not do it.
"Wired differently" might be a bad pun, but it's accurate. Zach digs deep into every layer of software development, and he even likes to dabble in hardware from time-to-time.
With 13 years in software development experience, he's often called on to solve the trickiest bugs and explore the newest technologies.
Not only is he a dad of three, he also plays classical violin, listens to NPR, is a certified coffee aficionado AND bakes fine pastries for the office. And everyone here is smart enough not to tease him about it!
Spell-checker. Thesaurus. Mind reader. Tim is all of the things most software developers can only dream of.
With degrees in English and Psychology, Tim brings a unique perspective to user interface design and human computer interaction. Said simply? He gets how people and computers relate best.
Tim also studied Computer & Information Technology at Purdue, and has 7 years of software development experience. He's been a gamer for a long time (--cough-- Mario Kart 64 world champion), and has created a few of his own.
On weekends you might find him sipping Jamba Juice on the golf course -- or working on another game for the app store.
Mike is a simple man with insane talent. He's got chops for the double bass (jazz bass too, along with piano and guitar) so we're hopeful he'll soon be touring with the DelMar band.
When he's not making music, you might find him pwning a video game or working on a new app. He also has a long and storied history of desining award-winning thrill rides for Roller Coaster Tycoon.
Mike has 6 years of software development experience, and can keep his cool in any situation (except maybe when his hard drive dies). He's Indiana through and through, and most at home in the backyard with friends and family.
Spreadsheet wizard. Marketing genius. Phenomenal doodler. Liz is probably your first point of contact here at DelMar if you need someone to "type up an app".
She brings a little sanity and problem solving prowess to the rest of our team, and in exchange we keep her safe from math problems so she can focus on "real" dilemmas like being a huge sports fan that struggles with her own "house divided" - green and white or black and gold????
Outside the office you might find her in the stands or on a field cheering on her own three kids or coaching someone else's.
Erin helps make our office a little more like home, and chances are hers is the voice you'll hear first if you call or come by.
Born and raised right here in Lafayette, Erin loves the woods and her wrap-around front porch (note to Erin, our office needs a porch swing next to the coffee maker).
She dreams of someday living off the grid, or perhaps traveling as a photographer for National Geographic.
Jeff is a modern day Samurai whose weapon of choice is the keyboard. He did actually live in Japan for awhile, and we think that his sensei there was the one who taught him superhuman typing speed.
He's always composed and incredibly thoughtful, and with 16 years in software development he is more than ready to help clients find Zen in elegant solutions to their problems. When he's not slaying dragons at the keyboard you might find him on his mountain bike, at the gym, or with his family.
Jeff is a foodie (our term, not his) and is always up for trying something new.
Kris has measured the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow and enjoys moving fast and breaking things (though not in the software development sense -- think NASCAR and medieval combat).
Born in Cali and raised in nearby Camden, Kris is as practical as they come. He lives by the golden rule and is excited to help others solve problems through software. When he's not in the office you might find him at Taco Bell with his wife watching Fringe or anything John Noble (the combination of everything he loves).
Kris is a graduate of Purdue University and DelMar's bootcamp program. Welcome Kris!
Tasha, you just got a job at DelMar. What are you going to do now??
I'm going to Disney World!!!
Tasha's interview didn't go down exactly like this, but we're pumped we got to her before Disney Pixar did.
Tasha loves a good story and enjoys creating software that impacts people in their daily lives. Tasha is a graduate of Purdue University and DelMar's bootcamp program, and she's excited to help write better stories through software.
Outside the office we think Tasha would be a great pick for Dancing with the Stars -- she's a pretty great swing dancer and has a flair for the dramatic. Her knitting skills are also on point, which is helpful for those cold winters back home in South Bend.
Gabe is our fix-it guy and time-teller. An Indianapolis native and Purdue graduate, Gabe is always moving forward and excited to help our clients take their projects to the next level.
Gabe is also an accomplished beatboxer -- in fact, probably the only thing that stands between him and worldwide fame is a sweet nickname. Nothing has stuck yet, but the DelMar team is on the case.
On a nice day you might find him playing volleyball, working in the garage, or drinking a craft brew.
** cue intro music **
At guard, a 5'11" sophomore from Hope, Indiana, Jooosssshh Hewwwittt!
Every morning at DelMar we strive to give Josh the hoosier intro that he deserves. Basketball is in is blood, just like the competition and camaraderie that go along with it.
Hailing from southern Indiana, he lives by the golden rule and might agree with Forrest Gump that "life is like a box of chocolates". Unlike Forrest though, he's always had a knack for technology and is a fast learner.
When he's not in the office or on the basketball court, you might find him playing pong or hanging with friends.
